Epilogue

Abbey: Now far from the limelight and retired from all advertising media, oversized “service animal” dogs, prodding children and overzealous adults, she has quickly taken a liking to the quiet home life. She is well loved and cared for and spends her days sunning on the dining room chair, playing with her toys, surveying her new kingdom and has a new penchant for watching television!

The Building: Somber and quiet now, relegated to become something quite vanilla. Left cleaner that it has been in twenty years, but it’s not surprising that it still rains inside!

Vendors, Customers and New Friends: Not much for titles or categories, so let’s just use, “all our new friends.” Didn’t matter if you were selling or buying or just having a cup of coffee. Our lives were enriched by meeting some amazing people, many of which have become as close as family. We look forward to having a cup of coffee or dinner and catching up!

Facebook: Wasn’t really ever a social media mogul . . . but in looking back over our year of posts, we think we did a pretty good job! Perhaps sometimes a bit too much vermouth in the humor, but we always had an entertaining niche. Frankly Mr. Zuckerberg, we’re not sure if this Facebook thing is going to take off!

Education: Wow kids, they don’t teach you this in school! P. T. Barnum once said, “Whatever you do, do it with all your might. Work at it, early and late, in season and out of season, not leaving a stone unturned, and never deferring for a single hour that which can be done just as well now.” Mission accomplished!

The Short Dark Knight: We used to get upset when you threatened us, lied about our intentions, gossiped, bullied other store owners, rant and raved like a Napoleonic mad man. But, we’re old enough to remember Billy Barty, who said, “Try being my size and going into a public restroom.” Rest assured, we’re not laughing with you, we are laughing at you!

Snohomish: There’s one constant in town and that’s change. Always marching in a new direction called, “progress”. Nice place to visit we hear, but maybe not for a little while.

Bruce and Michael: There’s finally time to mow that lawn! We’ve turned the speed of the treadmill way down. Never realized that button existed! We raise our morning cup of coffee with a simple smile and an amazing idea: Optimism!

Springsteen: We’re going to have to borrow one more quote, . . . “We’ll meet you further on up the road.”

Ciao

God Bless, Goodnight and Goodbye

We are very saddened to have to inform all of our great friends, new and old, and vigilant supporters, that The Gallery is closed.

We’ve enjoyed this great time together, but alas, we must bid you a heartfelt God bless, good night and goodbye . . .
